INTRODUCTION

A girl or women is a gift from god. Everyone should respect women. Without women no one is able to come to the earth. A woman can teach others by teaching her child, she can teach a child to not to do any wrong thing with others, to respect others etc. Empowering women means empowering future kids. Women are strong enough to do anything. People of India worship Durga. A girl is considered as Lakshmi. Now women are reached at the level as equal to men. Women are globally involves in various sectors to contribute their works to various sectors. Due to the reservation policy for women they can be able to work in various public as well as private sectors to contribute their work in industrial, social, academic fields etc. Because of the equal right of women to work in various field such as political, legal they have notice various issues arises in various filed of works, such as sexual harassment, blackmailing, advantages of weaknesses of a woman taken by a person etc. Some women work with some official’s right person with the help of some NGO to protect women in various workplaces as well as work ways. By focusing those issues by nation, different Law and Act established. 

The violence against women is increasing at high level day by day. If one person considers his/her mother as mother then others sister is also our sister and others mother is our mother. Women are facing many problems in today’s world in spite of having various advantages. No one can change the mind of any person; if one person has the bad intention to harm you he/she will do every possible means for harm you. 


VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

There are various violence against women are being noticed. Some of them are as follows:-

  1. Sexual harassment: - Sexual harassment means if a person harassed someone by physically and force that person to do such things that is illegal and the person don’t want to receive such behaviour from another, it is known as sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is also known as mistreated, ill-treat, misuse and exploit behaviour. There are various incidents happened in the society, we are aware only of those incidents which we heard and see in the news but there are also various incidents happens that we don’t know about these because most of the people don’t want to share such incidents as they thought that this may make a negative impact to their life.
  2. Molestation: - Molestation is also a kind of violence against women or a child. It is a kind of sexual harassment. Sometimes it so happens that if a 5 year girl child face molestation, she suffers a lot but do not know what to do or to whom she will go to tell about this and for this reason she face this problem many times for not saying to anybody. 
  3. Cruelty against women: - Women are also facing the problem of cruelty.
  4. Gender based violence: - Women are facing the violence related to gender. Women have suffered the problem of gender based violence. Sometime women are treating as weak as compare to men. 
  5. Child marriage: - Many girl childs are facing the problem of child marriage. Marriage at the early stage of a girl is not good for her mental status and also for her physical appearance. Many girls enter marriage at the early stage because of having some traditions and sometime because of poor condition of family and many more.
  6. Female genital utilisation: - Female genital mutilation is violence against women. Because of this, a woman has suffered the pain a lot and no one can feel the pain and sometimes this may result into her death. 
  7. Psychological abuse: - Women face the problem of psychological abuse.
  8. Physical abuse: - Women are abused physically.
  9. Domestic violence: - Women are facing the problem of domestic violence. It is a kind of violence happens in household or within the boundary of a house. Sometimes, domestic violence may result into death of women.
  10. Dowry death: - Dowry death is happened because of demanding dowry and sometimes for dowry women get suicide and sometimes murdered by her husband or his family and this is a type of violence against women.
  11. Rape: - Rape is considered as the most harmful violence against women. Women died because of this violence. Who raped a women they have murdered her or thrown away sometimes burn her because they trying to remove evidence but no one should be run away by doing such violent act. One day they will punish. Daily much news comes to know that child got raped, mother got raped etc. 
  12. Marital rape: - Marital rape is an act which is happened after marriage. If a married women do not want to make any physical relation with her husband but her husband forcefully make physical relation with her it is considered as marital rape with women. It is her choice if she doesn’t want to make any physical relation but this does not mean that husband forcefully make physical with her.
  13. Prostitution: - Prostitution is violence against women because many girls are used in this process and sometimes they joined because of force applied by someone; sell by someone to use her in prostitution, and sometime because of earning money and so on. If they are not involved in this process without consent then it is not good.  
  14. Pornography: - Pornography is also considered as violence against women.
  15. Forced pregnancy: -Forced pregnancy means coercion or forcefully make a woman pregnant without any desire or thought and this type of pregnancy may comes under the category of violence against women.
  16. Partner homicide: - Women are the victims of this type of violence.
  17. Blackmailing: - Blackmailing means sending such content which is illegal and threatening to someone. Multimedia message is a type of such type of violent.
  18. Cyber stalking: - Cyber stalking is another form of violence against women.

LAWS FOR WOMEN

There are various laws available for women. The judiciary plays an active and efficient role by deciding various case laws to provide justice to women. The constitution of India contained provision not only for men but also for women. An equal right has been provided under constitution of India for all. Women has the working right, women has the right to participation. They has the right to freedom, they has the right to proper medical care and proper condition of work. They have various other rights under the constitution of India.

The international law has various instruments that deal with women. Some of them are Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Committee on the Elimination against Women, Beijing Declaration, Protocol to the prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children, supplementing the UN convention against transnational organized crime, International convention on the protection of the rights of all migrant workers and members of their families, Vienna Declaration etc.    

There are various other laws available for women. They are Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Dowry Prohibition Act, Equal Remuneration Act, Prevention of immoral Trafficking Act, Sati(Widow burning ), Child Marriage Restrain Act, etc.


CONCLUSION

Violence against women is increasing day by day. There is the need of creating awareness for eliminating the violence against women. Educating a woman means educating a child. Government can make more policy for women and the role of NGOs is very much efficient in this regard.
