
The Allahabad High Court has
granted one week's time to the advocate who appeared on the behalf of the
petitioner to file reply to the personal affidavit submitted by Mr. Amit
Pathak, Senior Superintendent of Police, Varanasi in connection to the case of
a missing BHU student who allegedly disappeared from their custody in February,
2020.
The Division Bench comprising
of Justice SK Gupta and Justice Shamim Ahmad has taken the
record summited by SSP Varanasi who was present in person, and directed him to
be present before the Court in person.
Mr. Saurabh Tiwari, counsel on the
behalf of the petitioner, had prayed before the Court to grant the time period
of one week to file the reply to submission made by SSP, Varanasi.

Last month, the Allahabad High
Court has taken cognizance of a letter petition addressed to the Chief Justice
of Allahabad High Court by Advocate Mr. Saurabh Tiwari in connection to the
case of a missing BHU student who allegedly disappeared from their custody in
February, this year.
On the last date of hearing the Court has asked the state respondent for the submission of complete statements of facts in the form of the counter affidavit. To fulfil the direction of the Court the Circle officer, Varanasi has filed an affidavit which disclosed all the steps taken by the police in the present matter.
“Let the Photostat copies of the
aforementioned entire documents, which were placed by the A.G.A. on the earlier
date in a sealed cover, may be supplied to Mr. Saurabh Tiwari forthwith for
perusal” directed the Court.
The Court has listed the matter for
next hearing on 22nd September, 2020.
