Don’t change course of River: High Court

On Wednesday, the High Court of Karnataka directed the Govt to submit an affidavit through a competent authority stating that the work of changing & diverting the course of Vrishabhavathi river won't be taken up.

A division bench extended the interim direction restraining the cutting of trees without its permission.

In a Public Interest Litigation, Bangalore Environment Trust & 6 Ramanagara farmers have contended that no expert opinion was taken before granting approval to the Rs 110-crore project in 2018.
