About Let me Breathe
ASAR is a development start-up, which focuses on social and environmental issues by conducting research, ground-truthing, and understanding local contexts in order to build innovative strategies that are rooted in reality.
ASAR specializes in organizing and facilitating conversations that help build relationships between various stakeholders to sustain collaborations essential to catalyze momentum and result in change. Hence, they established the Clean Air Collective and chose to play the role of its dedicated “backbone support entity”. Their role has been of the facilitator and convenor of the Collective, and to help the organizations work together on an aligned strategy.
Let Me Breathe (LMB) is a platform that provides space to document and tell stories of living and surviving air pollution, climate change, and the end of fossil fuels in India. It was founded in the year 2017 by two Delhiites.
The entire discussion around air pollution in Punjab is seen only through the lens of Delhi and stubble burning which we believe is a big roadblock in addressing the issue in the state. With that in mind, they are organizing a storytelling workshop for young people in Punjab to address the issue, Understanding Air pollution sources that contribute to pollution in Punjab.

Decoding the sources: What is the state of air quality in Punjab? What are the different sources of air pollution and what are we doing about it?
People’s pollution stories: Stories on how air pollution has affected lives & livelihoods in Punjab
Pind di clean air Innovation: Highlight innovative ideas that are mitigating air pollution and bringing solutions to Punjab
Awards
1st Place: A cash prize of INR 15,000
2nd Place: A cash prize of INR 10,000
3rd Place: A cash prize of INR 5,000
The top 50 applicants will be provided the following:
Online storytelling and video-making Bootcamp run exclusively by an award-winning platform- Pluc
One-on-one guidance to create your entry for the second (final) round
Competition Structure
Round 1
The competition is open to participants from Punjab and accepts entries in the categories listed above.
Submit your entry in any of the available categories to be reviewed by the judging panel.
Video Story
Stories should be 1-3 minutes long.
Individuals/groups can submit one story per category.
Stories should be appropriate for all audiences shot under fair use after the prior consent of individuals captured.
Photo series
Each photograph should be accompanied by a caption and a short description (50 words)
The photograph should be original; not morphed and the participant should be the sole and original owner of it.
The photo must not contain violence, profanity, obscenity, racism, intimidation or direct attacks on individuals or organizations.
Round 2
Top 50 entries will be selected and will join a 2-day Bootcamp after which they’ll have to work on a final assignment related to the story prompts shared in the Bootcamp.
Training and mentorship for selected students with the Pluc team will be provided through this process.

Eligibility
Any person between the age of 15-29 years, living in and sharing a story from Punjab While it is encouraged that participation from school & college students should come, you can submit an entry as long as you are a young person with a story to tell.
How to Submit
Send your application following the link given at the end of this page and follow the steps described below.
- Introduction to Mobile Storytelling
- Name of author/producer(s)
- Age of author/producer(s) on day of submission in the competition
- Name of registered school/college/group if any
- State and city of residence
- Fulfill the Format & Structure and the Dissemination criteria for its category.
- Focus on real and current local issues and present possible and constructive solutions supported by credible sources e.g. local stakeholders, experts, research, etc.
- Include a credit role, footnotes, or a bibliography with the sources of images, video footage, music, and information not created by students (see information in T&C).

Fees/Charges
There is no fee payable to enter the competition.
Language of Submission
Entries can be in Hindi, English, Punjabi
