
The Allahabad High Court while extending its interim order till further order has directed the state government to file response to plea challenging the love-Jihad ordinance passed by Uttar Pradesh Government.
“The interim order dated 18.12.2020 is extended till further orders. In the meanwhile respondents may file counter to the writ petition after supplying a copy of the same to counsel for petitioner.”

The above direction has passed by Division Bench Comprised of Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery while dealing with the petition filed by Syed Ahmed Faizan, Syed Farman Ahmad Naqvi (Senior Adv.) and Zaheer Asghar against the “Love-Jihad ordinance” of state government of Uttar Pradesh.
The court has observed that court is not preclude from hearing a challenge against law just because the batch of PILs is pending before the Supreme Court. The court has listed the present matter on 15 th January for next hearing.
